Law enforcement has used DNA "fingerprinting" to analyze evidence for years. They use RFLP to find the Dna's unique banding pattern based on restriction sites. In the lab we will take DNA from the suspects and use restriction enzymes to cut it. We will incubate the tubes in 37 degree water to help the enzymes cut the DNA. Then after the digested DNA is collected we will put it into an electrophoresis apparatus. It will then separate the DNA creating a unique pattern.
